‘Vinegar Hill” is the first sequel to Bob Sennett’s award-winning novel, ‘The Music Teacher,’ published by the Lethe Press in 2014.
In ‘Vinegar Hill’, the nephew of the hero of ‘The Music Teacher’ is Artemis Moran, a champion swimmer for Brooklyn College. There, he befriends Solly Harker, a poet studying at the college. As the two fall in love, they inadvertently get caught up in the actions of German spy ring running out of a boarding house near the Navy Yard. In the end, they are called upon to test their newfound maturity and courage under the most difficult circumstances imaginable.
Set in Saigon on the eve of the Tet Offensive of 1968, ‘Hotel Continental’ concludes Bob Sennett’s war trilogy. This novel tells the story of Artemis Moran’s nephew, Allen Harker, and his on again, off again affair with P.O. McGuire, a press photographer who happens to be the son of one of the most famous actors in Hollywood history. It is a tale about the combustion that happens when love mixes with violence, chaos, and intrigue.
